Traveling abroad during the COVID-era, whether it’s for your business or pleasure, can be challenging. Getting all the necessary information, understanding country specific COVID-19 PCR test travel requirements, documentation, following travel bans and restrictions around the world can be even more daunting.

Countries Requiring a Negative Coronavirus Test Result

You are probably already aware that most countries have specific COVID-19 PCR test entry requirements. For example, some countries might require a negative COVID-19 PCR test within 72 hours of travel. This requirement can vary to as little as 48 hours to as far as 10 days before your travel. In addition, there might be some additional requirements around the type of the COVID-19 test that the authorities will require you to present at the time of your arrival. Examples of tests that can be requested are COIVD-19 PCR test, COVID-19 RT-PCR test, or Antigen COVID-19 test. Moreover, an international destination might specify the type of sample collection that they want to see, for example, only a nasopharyngeal swab would be accepted,  but not serological or blood collection. Therefore, it is crucial to check the laws and regulations of the country you are heading to.
