In short: You don't have to navigate a foreign clinic, an unfamiliar pharmacy, or a language barrier when you get sick on the road. A quick video call with your U.S. physician usually solves it.
How it works abroad: Our telemedicine line is available worldwide, day or night, across time zones. You video chat with a board-certified physician who knows your history, can interpret symptoms in context, and can advise on safe over-the-counter equivalents in the country you're in. When local prescriptions are needed, we'll often coordinate with a nearby pharmacy or international clinic.
What we can handle remotely: travelers' diarrhea, respiratory infections, UTIs, allergic reactions, motion sickness, altitude symptoms, medication refills, and triage for anything more serious — including guidance on whether you need a local ER or medical evacuation.
Pre-trip checklist:
- Confirm routine vaccines and any destination-specific ones (typhoid, hepatitis A, yellow fever) - Pack a small kit: anti-diarrheal, electrolytes, ibuprofen, antihistamine, bandages, your daily meds plus a few extra days - Carry a digital copy of your medical history and prescription list - Save our number in your phone before you leave: 1-888-933-3305
A five-minute call from your hotel room beats a four-hour detour to a clinic you can't pronounce. We send the doctor to you® — even when 'you' is on the other side of the world.
